Previous festivals and events in Le Marche

There are lots of festivals and events held each year in Le Marche. These are some of the festivals added to Sibillini Foothills since we launched in spring 2009. See a full list of upcoming Le Marche festivals.

5 October, 2010 - 10 October, 2010 Castelfidardo AN Festival Internazionale dell Fisarmonica di Castelfidardo

The 35th edition of the International Castelfidardo Accordion Festival will be held from 5th until 10th October 2010.
Thanks to last year’s success the Festival will be hosting very important guests famous for their musical innovation who will play the accordion backed by many different forms of artistic expression.
15 August, 2010 Fermo FM Palio dell'Assunta Horses racing at the Palio dell'Assunta

A very popular festival held on the 15th August every year. There is a medieval procession on the evening of 14th August with hundreds or town's folk dressed in authentic medieval costumes. This is followed on the 15th August by another historical re-encatment in the Piazza del Popolo followed by a an exciting horse race around the town.
11 August, 2010 - 13 August, 2010 Rotella AP Rotella Porco Festival Rotello Porco Festival

The Rotella Porco Festival 2010 takes place in the second week of August around the 11 to 13 August. 3 days of fun with lots of pork based dishes from gastronomici stalls in the village of Rotella. 9 August, 2010 - 22 August, 2010 Pesaro PU Rossini Opera Festival

The Rossini Opera Festival takes place in Pesaro in from 9 - 20 August with the main operas hosted in the Teatro Rossini.  A full programme can be found at http://www.rossinioperafestival.it/en/3/chronology/2010-2019/season-2010.html  
2 August, 2010 - 16 August, 2010 Servigliano FM Torneo Cavalleresco

This festival is held every summer in Servigliano in Le Marche and includes parades with participants in medieval costume and jousting competitions. In 2009 the events will be held from 02  - 16 August.
29 July, 2010 - 10 August, 2010 Piazza Nazario Sauro, Macerata MC Sferisterio Opera Festival

The Macerata Opera puts on performances of three or four operas each July and August under the name Sferisterio Opera Festival. The venue for the operas is the beautiful Sferisterio, a large open air arena which allows for the seating of 3,500 to 4,500 people depending upon the specific sets. Performances start at 9pm as the sun is setting. The 2010 season includes:
24 July, 2010 - 30 July, 2010 Fano PU Fano Jazz By The Sea

Fano Jazz By The Sea fom the 24 to the 30 July 2010 held in the Corte Malatestiana and Marina dei Cesari every evening from 7.30pm till midnight. The line up for 2010 is to be confirmed - check website for details.

20 July, 2010 - 30 July, 2010 San Ginesio MC The Battle of Fornarina

The fabulous battle re-enactment where Fornarina, the little baker's girl sounds the alarm to save San Ginesio from the marauding army of Fermo. Great costumes and great music. The festa takes place at the end of July - check the website for confirmed date nearer the time.

16 July, 2010 - 25 July, 2010 Sant'Ippolito PU Scolpire in Piazza

Scolpire in Piazza X1 edizione will takes place from 16 - 25 July 2010 in Sant'lppolito in Le Marche and celebrates the art of sculpting in Stone. There will be a symposium of sculpture, exhibitions, meetings, workshops, performances, food and wine all in a unique setting.
26 June, 2010 - 1 August, 2010 Ascoli Piceno AP La Quintana

One of the highlights of the summer festivals is La Quintana held each year in Ascoli Piceno. La Quintana is a series of jousting events held between the six districts of Ascoli.
